Another post, another apology

So I'm sorry, recently my posts have been getting shorter and shorter..okay, maybe I can't juggle like I thought. That doesn't mean I'm giving up! I am still very much trying my hardest to keep everyone up to date on all of my blogs! lol...okay so new news, my Husband and I have been discussing our finances and we are thinking that it may be wise to disconnect the Internet to save $$. (Yeah you know what that means) But! I have good news...there is always the Library so I can easily go there (once a week) and work on blogging! More new news: My Husband and I may be moving again....I know it hasn't been that long...but it may just be what God wants. We are both very excited to see all that God is doing in us and through us and to us! Thanks everyone for your prayers.

More posts to come,

A BIG God Bless You to you, and your loved ones,

-Tina

With Spring Comes Changes

"So okay, I know it's not Spring yet but, why not?"
My Husband and I are thinking about doing some gardening today in our front yard! the weather is looking really nice and all so we just thought why not! It needs some SERIOUS maintenance! But, that's taken care of, my Husband Jon pictured above :) Is the man for the job! He's gonna' do great! I just wanted to openly appreciate my Husband in this post.
Jon is an outstanding man of God. He is an inspiration. ever since we came back from the conference it has been like a night and day difference in our marriage! When problems arise, he better understands how to solve them. He has just been doing a wonderful job at applying all that we learned at the conference. Thank you Jonathan for being such a sweetheart...even when it's not Valentines Day! And thanks for making me feel special by calling me your, "Bride and Joy" ;) I love you! Many many changes have been going on in our marriage, good changes. More and more I can see these changes unfolding and more and more I can see how we are benefiting from them in a positive way! When I speak of changes, I mean mostly, Spiritual. God has been doing a marvelous work in our marriage all along, I guess it's just now that I am finally beginning to realize that! I can't quite explain how I feel, but I feel good! For those of you out there who know me or just like to keep up with my blogs -news news...Well...news is usually NEW lol...BUT, this is something that many of you know...Jon and I are still trying to conceive and we are continuing to feel the prayers of His' people being sent our way! We just wanted to thank all of those who are, we can't thank you enough! Well, we aren't expecting as of right now. But we have just adopted a very valuable little something called FAITH! Lol...by the grace of God, through these ups and downs of TTC, our faith has grown. Not only has it grown but it's here, with us and in us...Jesus has given us and placed inside of our hearts -what feels like the first time- this unshakable, unwavering faith! We are both so grateful for. I know some of you may be thinking...that's it? Just faith? Have you not had that all along? Well, the answer to that is yes...BUT, we just didn't know what it really meant to truly believe. We didn't...(well, I didn't)...REALLY know how to have faith, and how to put feet to my faith...and God spoke to me about how faith without works is DEAD! And so, that really helped me more fully understand how to have faith, what faith means, and how having faith and a Spirit of total surrender to God can drastically turn things around in life, for the better. I don't really know how to explain it but, all of these new and positive changes, and now the refreshing feeling I have when I choose to surrender and hand my plans over to God it's just, it's very freeing. Just, knowing that God is in total control of my life, and that He has plans to not harm me but to give me hope and a future...I find security in knowing that and in knowing He knows! :) So have faith today! Jesus hears your cry! And He understands your tears! The moment you feel like giving up on God DON'T -because if you keep going strong even if you feel like there is just no hope...that is when God will pick you up, dust you off, and will set you on a path to freedom. You will never want to go back to your old life again. God wants to KNOW you, He wants to heal you and set you free! Will you let Him do that today? Christ is always speaking to us in someway....it's not Him that is slowing us down...it is US that is slowing us down. Christ is ALWAYS there...He is not out of reach! If we just call out to Him and choose to listen to Him...He will give us what it is we are searching for. It may not always be what we want but, it is what is best for us. What we want isn't always what we need. Trust God and have faith! Dive into His holy Word, fill your self with Scriptures so that when you need them, they will be right there, written upon your heart's memory. God Bless You!

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts." Deuteronomy 6:6

"
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

"
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:17

Because of Jesus,

Promoting :)

So I just finished writing a poem entitled, "Meadows Mark" and the reason why I am posting this poem on this blog is because the blog that I wrote and posted this poem on (The Poet Tree) I felt I needed to promote it because it has little to no readers SO yes...I do have another blog called, "The Poet Tree" also, I've got another blog called, "TTC: My journey". Yes, This is my main blog...however I do keep the other two blogs I've got, up-to-date regularly...just like this blog anyway. SO lol...sorry that sounded a bit confusing, hope you understand! If you want to read more poems of mine make sure to check out "The Poet Tree" blog, or if you are more interested in hearing about infertility feel free to visit the "TTC: My Journey" blog. Thanks!

Meadows Mark

The owl sits and waits, and watches.
The birds all take their place.
The forest is blooming with flowers galore.
It's such a beautiful place.

As I walk through the trees, I raise my head up high and I look towards the sun.
With my feet firmly planted I breath in the scenery.
I melt in God's nature, as I bask in the glory of His handiwork.
I feel as if I am floating high above the clouds.

I imagine myself way above the earth, soaring with the angels.
My heart is joyfully beating, and I feel free as an open road.
My mind is clear, and I am here in the midst of God's precious gifts.
I begin to walk further on this dirt path through the trees.

The soil beneath my feet is rich, and warm.
My soul can almost not bare the sight, sounds and smells of this mystery.
As I quiet my Spirit, summer rain begins to fade into the earth around me.
The rain feels delicate and warm as it trickles down my face, I stand in awe.

I find comfort in this stillness.
I raise my hands toward Heaven, and let out a shout.
"I'm Alive" I say.
My cry fell off my lips and slipped into a stream beside me.
There was waves and ripples showing off in the water, they grew and grew.

The little fish were flustered by the sudden shift in their home.
Soon those tiny creatures, went safely back to calm.
I walked on.
Further and further I went, darker and dimmer it got.

I quickly found a dry grassy meadow to escape to nearby.
As I lay dreaming in this soft grassy meadow, the sun politely, is waving goodbye.
I wave back, and cry.
This day is done, I've enjoyed it so much, I am going to miss it for, I'll never get it back.

I reassure myself, "There will still be days like this."
I pray a quick little prayer to my Lord above.
Then, I lay my head down against the earth.
I close my eyes.

I turn off my mind.
I mutter, goodnight world, as I fade in and out of sleep.
I dream of the joys of God's creation, and how it brings me great peace.
I've never felt closer to Jesus.

The night sky fell gently upon me, like a blanket.
I pretended the stars marked the number of journey's I have yet to take.
I sink deeper and deeper into the grassy meadow.
My body's asleep but, my heart is wide awake.

I fall deeper still, now I'm finally dreaming.
Or was it that, all of this was just a marvelous dream?
Sometimes reality is so wonderful that it almost doesn't seem real.
Whether a dream or not...I hope to never wake up, it's just that marvelous.

This meadow...left it's mark.

Best Trip Ever! Part 2

So we had a really great time the next day too! My Husband took me out to the Northwest Arkansas mall, and he had seats reserved for us at the game. They were the seats right behind the bench so, it was exciting! At the lady backs basketball game we had fun yelling, "GO HOGS GO!" "WOO PIG SOOIE!" and "DEFENSE"! [=

At the Northwest Arkansas mall, they had the coolest setup in the center of the mall I guess it was, they actually have trees growing out of the ground inside of the mall like in the eating area...it is awesome! So, we made sure to get some photos of that too. A piano player was playing there as well which was really unique and cool! Close by they also were giving free massages. Those types of things I have never seen in a mall before so it was real neat.

As you can tell by my facial expression I was SHOCKED that we got such great seats number one, number two I was shocked that we were even there about to watch my favorite team play! It was wild! ESPN was there filming the game too. It was a really fun time. Unforunatly however my team (AR. Lady Backs of course)...lost! =[ It was a fight! The score at the end when it was all said and done was Arkansas 50 Auburn 54. It was a close game...very intense to watch in person! It was really neat, I am so glad I got to see my favorite players in action! It's way better than watching it from the computer or what not. Jon is even getting interested in basketball now! =] It's real nice to have joint interests.

The picture of me by the fence above was taken at the U of A campus. We tried to get the "A" sculpture in the background..but obviously it didn't workout lol.

Below are the the pictures we took at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayettevill! It was a ton of fun! Shopping and just having a blast. [=

Have YOU ever been to the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayettevill? Quick Trivia: In which episode of 19 Kids and Counting was this mall filmed?
A: Donating Duggars ?
B: Duggar Day Out ?
C: Duggars Take A Dip ?
D: Testy Duggars ?

Best Trip Ever! Part 1

So it was a snowy weekend in Northwest Arkansas but the trip was well worth it! My Husband Jon and I had a wonderful time. We got to fill our hearts with the wisdom that only God can give. Gary smalley (the speaker at the event we went to). was amazing! He had so may great things to say as well as his son, and others. We learned many things and got some great tips on how to have a more effective marriage, and also how to have more effective friendships with others. I would recommend any married couple to go to the Gary Smalley we love healthy marriages event! There you will renew your marriage and spark a fire it your marriage that will keep on growing! Speaking of growing, I was blessed enough to have been able to snap a photo of the Duggar Home as we drove by...little Duggars were out playing in the snow...they were eyeing our car...lol...I think it was little Jackson who was out there using the, "Vote for Jon-David" sign to sled around with. I couldn't tell exactly which little Duggars were out their but, they sure looked like they were having a blast!

At the event we met Josh and Anna Duggar from the hit TLC show, "19 Kids and Counting". I couldn't believe they were there! It was a miracle! There were 1400 people at the event and we just so happened to bump into them! My Husband and I are HUGE fans of the Duggar family! A day prior to meeting them at this event my Husband and I got stuck at Champion Motor Cars the snow was piled heavy...as well as the traffic! But it was still neat! Anna was gracious enough to allow me to take a picture with her. For those of you who think that Anna is snobby or snootie....YOU ARE WRONG! This girl is SO kind and selfless...she even took the time to engage in conversation with me. It wasn't just a quick photo and that was that! She is genuine, real and full of Christ! As well as her Husband Josh, my Husband approached Joshua and told him what a wonderful influence he and Anna have been to us in our lives, and how we are so proud of them for staying so strong in there faith, and for doing so many great things and so forth and so on and...all Josh said was, "Wow...well, praise the LORD." They didn't draw any attention to themselves, they are very personable and humble. It was an honor and a blessing to have met them.

This weekend is a weekend my Husband and I will never forget! It was the best trip ever! I would just like to openly thank my wonderful Husband for taking the time to honor our marriage, and for being so thoughtful and wise! He planned this trip so perfectly! I thank you LORD as well for the many blessings poured out! And for all the wisdom we have obtained. Thank you for keeping us safe as well! We are young and in love! And now even more in love than before thanks to God working through this wonderful conference! I know we we weren't the only married couple that left changed! And revived! Now it is time my Husband and I apply what we have learned in our daily lives! I am so grateful to God for all the people that he had put across our path during the trip! We were deeply inspired, encouraged, renewed, refreshed and truly blessed!

I think it is very vital for every married couple to attend a marriage event once a year! My husband and I have decided that is what we are going to do! For Jon (my hubby) and I, we feel this conference has given us a whole new perspective on marriage. Marriage is more than just a commitment, it's a calling, it's an honor, and a privilege. [= I love you Jonathan! Happy Valentines Day baby! I pray we can celebrate many many more to come!!

Have YOU ever met a Duggar? Tell me about it!

Here's the link to my other blog, feel more than welcome to check it out! (:

NEW NEWS!

Quick Note: (No this announcement has nothing to do with the waterfall pictured above lol).

I have said before that I have this blog and another...it's true. but, this blog isn't getting hit with all the construction. The other blog is too. I changed the name of the other blog to, "TTC: My Journey." TTC stands for: "Trying To Conceive". That blog used to be entitled, "ABC's Of A Wife Like Me". I decided to reconstruct that blog as well! Feel more than welcome to check it out! I pray you are finding these new changes refreshing, rather than burdensome. God Bless all of you! I'm sorry about the confusion and inconveniences. I'm working on it. (:

My Apology!

My deepest apology to everyone out there who reads my blog! As I'm sure you have noticed, there has been MAJOR construction going on, on this blog! As you may have noticed, I decided to change the name of this blog to, "This And That", rather then "The Whole Iceberg". Some other changes that have been made are the background, the style and vibe of everything! And so much more! I felt the blog needed a bit of a face lift. (Or blog lift in this case). It is going to be under construction from now until about the end of February. Once AGAIN I am SO very sorry for the inconvenience! On a lighter note: TONS! Of stuff is going on in our lives it's wild! So...I have a WHOLE lot of things to blog about! =] Even though all of this construction is going on...it won't stop me from blogging! Don't worry...new posts will be up each day (or every other day). I am going to be keeping you up to date on this and that. Thank you all for your patience! It's much appreciated!!!

Blessings,

In Sickness And Health

We're sick! Yep...this hasn't happened very often in our marriage. It's hard to take care of one another when we both need taken care of. He started feeling bad today, sounds like he's getting a bad cold. I have laryngitis so, I'm trying to do what the doctors say to do: drink lot's of water, get rest try not to speak...etc. (That last one is hard for me sometimes...especially when my husband comes home from work and wants to talk about his hard day. I want to have a voice to encourage him with. SO, lately I have been trying to find other ways to encourage him. It's working out alright...though, I still miss talking. I pray that we both get well soon!

Hopefully within the next couple weeks we'll begin to see progress. My Husband is very healthy and NEVER seems to get sick. He told me once, he said, "Honey, when I get sick...I GET S-I-C-K!!" SO, whatever my husband has must be REALLY bad...because as I said, he seems to NEVER get sick. Whenever it begins to feel like too much effort to care after each other, we sometimes remind each other of the promise we made in our vows..."In sickness or in health right babe?"...."Right sweety". (:

Last night we went out on a date. Even though we don't feel the best, we still try to make the best out of every situation. Well, last night I wasn't feeling the best...he was feeling fine then. I really wanted to go out on a date even though I felt bad so...we went. He said it was a surprise and that our reservations were made. I was like, "Hmm....hee hee. I'm excited!" A world of thoughts came swimming through my brain. "Hmmm...I wonder if we're going to a fancy hotel...or, maybe dinner somewhere...OR.. -"

We got in the the car and started driving...he reached his hand across the middle seat to hold my hand...he smiled, and said,"I love you". I smiled back and enjoyed feeling 17 again. All of a sudden, the car came to a stop. He walked out and around the car to my side of the door, opened it, took my hand like the gentlemen he is...and gently escorted me to our destination. "This is it", he said. I looked up and saw a sign above the doors that read, "La Pastorella."

He kindly opened the door, and allowed me to go in first. I looked around this beautiful bistro and saw all of the vintage pieces they had all around. The tables were set up nicely, the romantic music flooded the room. We took our seats and began reading the menu.
"Yes, I'll have the Spaghetti Parmesan with Italian Sausage please." "And for you Sir?" "I'll have the Cordon Bleu, please." As we waited for our food we sipped our drinks, laughed and talked and had a great time. Our food arrived! "Oo that looks good! Thank you." I exclaimed. "Wow this looks really good". "Your most welcome!" The waiter said. He went on, and we dug in! I'm telling you folks...I have NEVER sunk my teeth into pasta that good EVER before. I am mostly Italian and my Father and grandpa (especially Grandpa)...makes some crazy good pasta! But, it's NOTHING like the pasta from La Pastorella!

No offensive familia -I love you all but, you need to sharpen up your pasta-making skills ;)
The night at, La Pastorella was wonderful. A great surprise! Thank you honey for taking me there and surprising me! I love you! :)

We finished off our romantic meal with a tasty desert called, Chocolate Marble Cheesecake, set the tip on the table, and drove off into the frosty night! Even though I was a bit sick...I don't regret one moment of the night. It was incredible. Being sick with supper isn't so bad when you have someone special to enjoy it with :)

Have you and your spouse ever been sick at the same time?

Untill next post!

It's A Wonderful Journey

This is one of my very first posts in 2011...feels good to be blogging again! :) In this post I wanted to talk about our marriage and how this second year of marriage has been going for us.

This second year of marriage, has been so wonderful! God has been really working on our hearts. I would like to say to anyone that has said to us that, "Marriage is just gonna' get better"...well, number one, thank you for that positivity! And, number two, you weren't lyin'! It has! I thought the first year was good HA! In this second year...SO much has been going on! God has been really stretching us and transforming and challenging us to better serve each other -and Him. I cannot BELIEVE how quickly time has already past by.

So much has happened. As I had mentioned earlier, my Husband and I celebrated our second Christmas -in our first house. Living here has been great! I love this house, and the people that are allowing us to stay here. I feel I have become more 'style' savvy I guess you could say...when it comes to decorating your home. I noticed in the first year...every room in the Apt. looked like a teenagers room space. Especially the Master bedroom of the Apt. I have seen some growth and maturity in my choices (as well as my husband) and choices of style (when in comes to the house)...In other ways as well. It's funny looking back on old pictures of when we your NEWLY-newlyweds...and just seeing how much we both looked so unprepared...and clueless to how hard things were going to be in the near future. I'm not saying that we don't look like children sometimes now too...we do. Haha...then however...well...you'd just have to see the pictures...

                                                                                     Oh look Here's One! : p

It's so exciting to see all the new, fresh and exciting things God is doing in our marriage now, in 2011. Years ago...before we even got married, we discussed the years ahead...and what we felt they would bring. When we got married we found ourselves having that same discussion. 2011 was brought up a lot...we have always called "2011" the, "Kid Year"...for some reason we always felt that in 2011 was when God was going to start blessing us with children. Well, the year's still fresh! So, we've got time! (: Yes...my Husband and I are still wanting a child right now. No...we are not expecting...yet. 2011...I feel this year could be the year. God may have different plans, however. We shall see.

Recently, the Lord has been really impressing upon our hearts that we should attend a Christian marriage seminar next month in February. I think, that would be an incredible experience, and very good for our marriage. I was telling my Husband, "Maybe we can make it an annual thing". I think going to one every year...would be a great time of renewal for us. It is true what they say...over the years...(NO, THE LOVE DOESN'T DIE) (I want to heavily emphasize that)...however, it does feel...not as fresh, and exciting always...(like in the first year of marriage.) SO...to rekindle that flame that you've already got burning brightly...why not go to a Christian Marriage Seminar every year...to turn that flame into a bonfire? Why not, right?

Don't wait till' 'issues' arise in your marriage...go just to go! And have a good time with your spouse! :) That is why we are going, to be renewed, and learn stuff...I'm very excited. Their going to have dinner and a show there, so it will be very romantic. They will also have, a great speaker, a comedy team, (hopefully a slow dance)...like we saw in the clip of this seminar. Lot's of great things to bring a sense of renewal in your marriage. (: If you would like information on this Christian Marriage Seminar...let me know! And I will be happy to give you the details! Maybe, you could find a good one in your area if you can't attend this upcoming one.

TRUE Love never dies! True love can ONLY come from Jesus. Only HE can keep that fire alive! Allow God to keep it burning!! We are living in an age where day after day we see marriages burning to a crisp...don't let yours be the next set of ashes. Keep striving to love God, KNOW God, genuinely, sacrificially, selflessly, deeply LOVE your Husband and family.

May God Bless y'all, in your marriages...and for those of you who don't yet know Christ. KNOW HIM! He'll change your marriage and your life!!! For the better :) There IS hope for your marriage! And His name is Jesus Christ.

Got any plans with your spouse for Heart Day 2011? Don't be afraid to share! :)
